Medical Escort on Air Ambulance Medical Flight Mediaviation only employs the most experienced NHS personnel, including senior critical care doctors and nursing staff and HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) paramedics. Doctors - All doctors employed by Mediaviation have at least 5 years post graduate experience and specialise in areas including Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care. All doctors we use for medical flight transfers and private air repatriation will have experience and training in Aviation Transfers and Medical Flights. Nurses - Mediaviation nurses are recruited at senior level within the NHS and have backgrounds in pre hostpital care, emergency medicine and critical care. Paramedics - Mediaviation only employs paramedics who are certified by the UK Health Professional Council (HPC) and have benn trained and worked in air ambulance HEMS services, with a minimum of 5 years experience. They have vast experience in performing medical flight transfers and repatriation on board air ambulance. Medical Escort for Commercial Flight Mediaviation, private air ambulance medical repatriation services, also provides medical escort for commercial flights. When Patient's condition allows, we can arrange medical repatriation on a scheduled flight. Mediaviation's Medical Repatriation Team will organise the fit-to-fly certificate from Patient's doctor and liaise with commerical airlines to fly Patient back either as in a sitting position or on a stretcher. The Patient is escorted by Mediaviation's nurse, paramedic or doctor, depending on each case.
Land ambulance with appropriate medical team can also be arranged for the Patient so that transport to and from the airport is provided.

For each air ambulance medical flight, the Patient is assessed on three levels of care: Low, Medium or High Dependency. Low Dependency This dependency includes Patients who need minimal medical interventions, but still require care and monitoring during medical fligth transfer / air ambulance flight. Air ambulance involved with this type of medical flight transfer would have the medical flight personnel (Medical Flight Nurse / Medical Flight Paramedic) and equipment to deal with medical emergencies. Medium Dependency For this level of care, in addition to the provision of equipment needed for low dependency transfers, Mediaviation medical flight personnel on the air ambulance will be capable of providing specialist care and equipment specifically tailored to meet the needs of the Patient. High Dependency This type of medical flight transfer requires the highest level of care. After a specialist medical flight assessment has been made of the Patient the most appropriate air ambulance will be recommended. The transferring senior medical flight staff will have the experience and specialist medical flight training to deal with this type of intensive air ambulance transfer.
