Training Course

Mediaviation Limited firm specialising in Private Air Ambulance and Medical Escort on Commercial Flights have held two training courses for Mediaviation's medical staff in Barnsley, UK. These took place on Saturday 19th November 2011 and Saturday 3rd December 2011 and the attendence was really good (25 in total!).

The courses were entitled 'Aero-medical Transport Course' and they aimed at presenting all types of aero-medical repatriations. Each type was discussed in detail, underlining potential problems that may arise and their immediate solutions. All Mediaviation's medical staff are very mindful of the specific and delicate character of all types of aero-medical repatriation.

Repatriation from Thailand

Mediaviation was involved in the private repatriation of Ryan Marven from Hat Yai, Thailand (check 'Ryan Marven WAKE UP!' on Facebook for more details).

Ryan was in a critical condition following a road accident in Thailand, he had a neurosurgical operation and had to then stabilise before being fit to fly again. The family had to raise the funds to bring him back on a commercial flight with medical escort. But that's not all - when the funds were secured, the floods in Thailand caused poor stretcher availability and delayed his repatriation.

Ryan was finally brought back home in the UK on Monday 28th November 2011. He is now recovering in an ICU near London.
We now wish him all the best and a prompt recovery close to his family and friends.
