Mediaviation provides private aero-medical repatriation service (also called air ambulance service) to individuals, heath institutions, governments, insurance companies across the UK, within Europe or worldwide!

Here, we would like to answer some of your questions regarding air ambulance medical flight transfers.

Q: Can I travel with the Patient on air ambulance?

Q: What is the luggage allowance on air ambulance medical flight?

Q: What kind of air ambulance are you going to use?

Q: How quickly can you respond to the request for an air ambulance?

Q: What documents should I provide for the air ambulance medical flight?

A: All Patients and accompanying persons (if any) for international medical flight transfers must supply the following information at least 24 hours prior to departure of air ambulance:

  • Full Name (as in passport)
  • Passport number, issue and expiry date
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passenger's relationship to Patient

Q: Can I travel with the Patient on air ambulance?

A: Where possible, family members or friends may accompany the Patient, however Patent's medical requirments, additional medical staff or equipment will always take precedence over all other factors. It all depends on the medical condition of the Patient.

Q: What is the luggage allowance on air ambulance medical flight?

A: In most circumstances, space in the air ambulance is primarily for Patient, medical flight personnel and medical equipment. Luggage is therefore limited to one small hand luggage. All other luggage must be sent prior to medical flight departure. Mediaviation can arrange transportation of excess baggage, if required, in order to provide smooth air ambulance flight.

Q: What kind of air ambulance are you going to use?

A: The air ambulance provided can vary from jet aircraft, turbo prop or helicopter, the type and size would reflect the length of journey and level of care required for the medical flight.

Q: How quickly can you respond to the request for an air ambulance?

A: In emergency situations, it may be possible to provide a fully equipped air ambulance ready for the medical flight within 2 hours from the request for an air ambulance.
