Rendell airlifted from Spain back to UK

MWR Gearlink Kawasaki's Ed Rendell has been airlifted back to the UK and will undergo surgery on his pelvis following a horrendous crash at the recent Cartagena Pro-Test.

The youngster suffered multiple breaks and is scheduled to go under the knife on Monday morning but surgeons are confident he will make a full recovery.

"It's a massive blow to the team to have Edward injured before the start of the season, especially after the pace he has shown in testing. The breaks are quite serious but the surgeons are hopeful that he will make a full recovery," said team boss Mark Webster. 

"I am sure Edward will want to get back on the bike as soon as he is able and we can't wait to have him back.  I must thank everyone at Mediaviation for total professionalism and the speed with which the airlift was completed.  Thanks also for the massive support from our sister team Gearlink Kawasaki in making the airlift possible."

Air Ambulance Repatriation from Spain to UK

Mediaviation Ltd, private air ambulance, has been contacted to arrange medical repatriation of Edward Rendell - motorbike rider for MWR Gearlink Kawasaki, who had an accident after a crash at the Pro-Test in Cartagena (Spain). Mediaviation has arranged for the land ambulance transfer in Spain from Cartagena to the airport in Murcia, air ambulance medical flight and land ambulance transfer from London airport to one of London's hospital.

The entire bed-to-bed service went smoothly and Ed is now undergoing treatment. We wish him a very speedy recovery!!!
